Wompus - 2018

Wompus was built in 2018 and is the only pre-2020 robot that is preserved in its original configuration with the codebase. Whilst Wompus does not get out as much as he used to, he is still operational and may make public appearances in the future.

It was with Wompus that the team improved Swerve Drive with our in-house designed 2.0 revision. Swerve allowed us to have better accuracy with positioning on the field and enabled a top speed of 32ft/sec (current team record). It was also with Wompus that we won the Excellence in Engineering Award at the Buckeye Regional and were 2nd Runners Up.

Three gray 3D bars with different shapes and heights, from left to right: a pointed top, a rounded top, and a flat top. The bars are labeled as winners of the FIRST Robotics Competition Buckeye Regional Excellence in Engineering Award.
