2004-2005

In 2004, a group of students and faculty at Cocoa High came together and form team 1592. We competed in our first regional in 2005, taking home the Rookie All-Star award for the Orlando Regional. We also went to the world championship in Atlanta, where we took home the Highest Rookie Seed Award for the Archimedes division.

2008

After the early success of the team in 2005/2006, we sought to improve ourselves and drive for a higher goal. We achieved it that spring at the Colorado Regional, where we won the regional. It was here we also took home the Woodie Flowers Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the FIRST Robotics Competition.

2012-2015

This is the year that we came into our stride, we took home back-to-back regional championship awards, Orlando and South Florida. We also competed in the 2012 championship in St. Louis, Illinois. In 2014, we took home another Regional Winner award for the Orlando Regional. We also built the SWAT robot for the Cocoa Police Department. We followed that up with a victory at the Buckeye Regional in Cleveland, Ohio.

2023-2024

Following the 2022 season the team sought to restore the way the team was prior to 2020. During the summer of 2022, we held multiple in-house bootcamps to train on CAD and all of our machinery. This allowed us to us cutting-edge technology for the 2023 season, whilst we did not take home any awards we did make it to finals in Orlando fishing 3rd. After our showing at orlando we began prototyping designs for 2024, whilst none of the designs were used in-full for this season the framework was there when Kickoff for 2024 came. We were able to CAD the Drivetrain and Chassis components in record time, we were fabricating by week 3 and had a functional demo by week 4. The team traveled to Knoxville, TN for the Smoky Mountains Regional and competed well, even though we were bumped out in semi-finals. The team took home the Industrial Design Award - Sponsored by GM. The first award the team has won since 2018.

2020-2022

In 2020, our team, all of FIRST, and the world came to a screeching halt. As a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, this event upended our team and we came close to extinction. Over the next two years, our team struggled to pull through the pandemic. Losing eighteen students, five mentors, and multiple sponsors have damped our spirits and made it hard to keep the current team together. Through determination and care, we launched a successful eternal recruitment campaign with, given the situation, amazing results. We started from nothing, lost it all, and rebuilt for 2022, emerging from the jungle, a better, stronger, and wiser tiger. A BIONIC Tiger. Though we did not bring in any awards for 2022, we defied all odds and had something to show at the South Florida Regional and the Orlando Regional.
